The practice has a strict confidentiality policy following current Data Protection Regulations. We will only release test results to the patient (or parent if under 16) unless the patient has given prior permission to release this data to a named individual.
Test results received by the Practice are reviewed by our GP's. The GP's may then instruct our Administration Team to contact patients to inform them of any actions needed. Our administration team will convey the message from the GP but they cannot give further information or explain the result as they are not medically trained. Patients may be contacted by our administration team to book an appointemnt at which the result will be discussed.
If your result is normal or if there is no further action required, you will not be contacted by the surgery. Patients can contact the surgery to request their test results at any time or their results are available to view online for patients with access to our online system.
Please be aware that if you have online access, you may view tests results prior to the Practice contacting you. Results are autofiled once the result is available so unfortunately we are unable to prevent this.
